Arrive on time for class

No one will be permitted into the yoga room once the teacher's introductions are complete. Please do not enter the yoga room until 10 minutes after the previous class has finished.

The yoga room is silent

Please no talking before, during or after class.

Try to stay in the yoga room for the duration of the class

Leaving the class is very disruptive to other students. If you must leave please leave and re-enter between each posture.

Try to practice stillness between each posture

Please observe silence during final savasana (meditation) and leave the room quietly

Please turn off cell phones and pagers and do not bring them into the yoga room

Please no perfume or scented oils

FAQs

Is it okay to eat before practicing yoga?

This varies from person to person. We do not recommend that you eat anything heavy 2-3 hours before taking a class. It can be uncomfortable to practice yoga with a stomach full of food.

What if I'm not flexible?

The more inflexible you are the more reason you have to try yoga! Your flexibility will evolve and improve with your practice. Naturally, the more dedicated your practice, the quicker your flexibility will improve.

Why is the room heated?

The yoga room is intentionally heated to 105 Fahrenheit with 35% humidity. Practicing yoga in the heat facilitates a deeper safer stretch which minimizes the risk of injuries. The heat also promotes sweating which assists the detoxification process using the body's largest eliminating organ, the skin.

Can I lose weight?

Yes, if you have it to lose. With regular and consistent practice, you can simultaneously tone muscle mass and lose inches. The result will be overall slimming of the body and a proper distribution of body weight. This is called weight normalization. Regular practice of Bikram yoga also helps to normalize your appetite and diminish unhealthy cravings.

What are the benefits?

With regular practice you will enjoy numerous benefits including: improved strength, flexibility and balance, toned muscles, improves immune system, reduces stress, increases bone density, aids digestive & circulatory systems, flushes lymphatic system, promotes relaxation and a sense of well being.

Can I practice Bikram Yoga while pregnant?

If you have never practiced Bikram Yoga before we do not recommend that you start when you are pregnant. If you have been practicing Bikram Yoga regularly for over a year you can continue your practice. After the first trimester you begin practicing the pregnancy series which is modified and contains no forward compression postures. As always, it is important to listen to your body. If you have any concerns consult your physician. Keep in mind that Bikram Yoga is an excellent way to get back into shape postpartum.

How often should I practice Bikram Yoga?

We recommend that you practice a minimum of 3 times per week to receive the maximum benefits from Bikram Yoga. Naturally, the more often you practice, the greater results you will enjoy.
